Quick Setup Directions for eSpray

Insert CD into drive

Open My Computer, select your CD drive and open it, double clock on the

Setup icon (this is the computer icon with the word Setup under it), this

will lead you through the program installation.

To begin using eSpray you need to do the following:

From the Setup dropdown menu select Company Information and then enter your

information, next select Supervisors from the Setup menu and enter your

information. You can enter more than one supervisor.

Next you need to enter information about your crops, varieties and blocks

before you can enter spray events. You must to do this in the following

order: crops, varieties and blocks (or fields). You can use either the Setup

menu or the buttons. You can edit any of these in the future. You can setup

your blocks as detailed or as general as you like. I.e. if you do not want

to separate your apples into varieties you can have a crop called apple and

a variety named apple. You can add varieties in the future. When setting up

blocks you can add a Tree Row Volume (TRV) factor. Giving your block/variety

a TRV factor will allow the program to allocate different amounts of

chemical use to each block/variety combination. If you do not wish to use

this feature leave the TRV factor at 100.

To track the costs you need to enter the cost of each product that you use

in the current cost field in the chemical database window. Click on the

chemical database icon and select the product from the list. The unit cost

must be in the same units as the use units. Use units are found in the field

just above the current cost field. I.e. you purchase Asana by the gallon

but you use it by the fl. oz., enter the cost per fl. oz. not cost per

gallon.

Now you can enter Spray Events. Click on the sprayer icon, click new and

follow the directions. In the Query window, if you want to spray all your

apples you need only select apple as the crop. In the next screen you will

be able to deselect blocks and varieties if you wish. In the New Spray

Event öChemicals window you can elect to spray by either tanks or acre. Be

certain to fill in the tank size and gal. /acre. You can enter chemicals by

selecting them from a list or typing them in.

eSpray has been written to meet the needs of many growers. I am always

looking for ways to improve this program and to make it more useful. I
